Mondelez International is urging wholesalers to prepare early for Christmas to help retailers make the most of the first sales in October.
Launching its Christmas confectionery range for 2017, Mondelez says confectionery was worth nearly £824m to the trade last year. And this year it is putting £10m behind its festive range and Cadvent campaign, along with a return of the Milk Tray Man and a raft of NPD.
Susan Nash, trade communications manager for Mondelez International stresses the importance of stocking up early to meet demand in the run up to Christmas and points to this year’s NPD to meet early demand such as Cadbury Snow Bites, now in a 43g self-eat carton RRP 60p (24 packs per case) and Maynards Bassetts Jelly Snowmen in sharing bags of snowman shaped jellies with an RRP of £1.32 per 165g pack (12 packs per case).
