Mars Chocolate yesterday (September 13) unveiled its first advert for its new Galaxy Duet, with the 20 second advert airing for the first time during ITV1’s The X Factor.
A TV spend of £1.5m sees the advert support the launch Duet across a four week period. This forms just one part of an integrated TTL campaign which includes PR, social media and YouTube. Mars hopes a partnership with Spotify will help to generate further engagement and provide listeners with the chance to enjoy the Galaxy Duet version of Moon River which features in the ad.
Christoph Weber, Galaxy senior brand Manager, said: “Since the now iconic Galaxy advert starring Audrey Hepburn and featuring Moon River first landed on our TV screens in 2013, the tune has really grown to become a part of the brand.
“Duet provides consumers with the chance to create their own ‘perfect harmony’ when it comes to indulging in their favourite chocolate, so we’re excited to bring this to life through the two very unique voices of Chanele and Bxnjamin [pictured].”
Galaxy is Mars’ biggest confectionery brand in the UK, worth approximately £216m at retail. The brand is also being supported by a major £12m media campaign, with TV advertising spread across 35 weeks in 2015 making it the most advertised chocolate brand in the UK.
