M J Seafood promotes fresh fish using social media

M amp;J Seafood, part of Brakes Group, claims to be the first fish and seafood provider to offer customers ‘catch of the day’ messages via MMS, email and Twitter.

The social media strategy has been devised to enable pubs and restaurants to order freshly caught fish. M amp;J sends ‘catch of the day’ MMS messages to mobile phones, which include a ‘click to call’ action allowing customers to order fresh fish and seafood as it arrives in port.

To support the MMS campaign M amp;J has launched a Twitter page and email service as another medium to post its ‘catch of the day’ pictures and information direct to the customer.

M amp;J Seafood marketing manager Clare Twiss said: “M amp;J is continually looking at new ways to supply the freshest fish to our customers. By embracing the digital revolution we are able to provide our customers with up to date images and information on fresh fish that they can purchase for their pub or restaurant.

“The social media strategy allows us to continually stay in contact with our customers and help them plan their menu’s each day.”
