Landmark Wholesale this week reported that sales had risen +18.6% for the financial year May 2011 to April 2012 compared to the previous year with own brand sales climbing +26.8% year-on-year.
Managing director, Martin Williams, said: “It’s been another good year for us despite there being no respite from the tough trading conditions. Our new members have made significant contributions and we’ve seen growth across the board – both brands and own brands.” He added that own label had “nearly doubled” its growth rate from the previous year and the group would be keeping the momentum going with no let-up in marketing and NPD activity.
Landmark also reported that its Cash Back initiatives had proved successful with sales of both branded and own label products seeing increases through Lifestyle Express stores with more than 600 retailers so far benefitting.
Landmark Wholesale’s retail controller, Stuart Johnson said: “Cash Back promotions are proving to be very popular with all our retailers and are encouraging them to show their customers that Lifestyle Express stores are committed to offering value and choice and competing with the multiples.”
