Landmark gains two more new members

Two new members have joined Landmark Wholesale Brook Street Foods and Turners Fine Foods taking it to a total of nine new recruits in the past 12 months.

Brook Street Foods, which was formed in 1990, is a delivered foodservice wholesaler which recently moved to new premises in Needham Market near Ipswich. It has a turnover of pound;10m, and delivers to customers in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

Turners Fine Foods is based in Goudhurst, Kent, and supplies more than 1,000 chefs and retailers with a range of general and specialist foods. Turnover is expected to hit pound;16m this year and the company has applied for planning permission to extend its premises to allow for more bulk purchasing and a wider product range.

Landmark managing director Martin Williams said: “We welcome them both to the group and look forward to working closely with them to help develop their businesses together. Foodservice is having a striking impact on our business and making a significant contribution to the Group.”

He said that with the addition of Country Range Group, which will be joining on January 1, Landmark Wholesale’s turnover in foodservice will be pound;1.1bn, and that Landmark is the third largest foodservice wholesaler in the UK.

Williams said that historically it had been mainly a cash and carry group, but by January 60% of its pound;2.7bn turnover will be delivered.
