kff relaunches street foods range embracing international cuisines

kff, the Kent-based foodservice wholesaler, has relaunched its Street Foods range, “taking inspiration from international street vendors.” The range includes a selection of ambient street food pastes, finger food and accompaniments to match growing consumer tastes.

The wholesaler says each new product has been created with simple recipes in mind that can help chefs cook great street food-style dishes with authentic flavour; such as the Mozambican Coconut Piri-Piri paste, perfect for making an African Beef Burger, Korean Bulgogi paste, used when making a Jap Chae Noodle Stir Fry or a Sri Lankan Curry paste, great when making a Coconut Dahl Curry. Other pastes include Cuban Chimchurri, Nasi Goren, Satay Panggang and Sweet Tamarind sauce. Each of the Street Foods pastes is now available as an ambient product in 1kg packs, lengthening the shelf life once opened and giving the caterer more convenience and flexibility.

Also in the range are a selection of products that are ideal accompaniments to a larger street food dish or served as lighter finger food. These include the Punjabi Samosa, Shrimp Crackers and Paratha Breads.

We have therefore source a range of products that celebrate the diverse tastes and textures of cuisines from South American to Africa, Southeast Asia to the Far East. Now chefs can take their customers on a culinary journey to the bustling streets of Bangkok or the white sand beaches of Maputo.

“As a lot of these flavours will be new to many menus, our Chefs Think Tank has teamed up with our supplier The Street Food Company and created a selection of recipes that utilise each product. To help operators tap into these ideas and explore recipe suggestions, we created the hashtag #ChefsThinkTank where the kff chefs can be reached through Twitter for advice and suggestions.”
