June’s FWD conference to reveal what customers are thinking

The challenges faced by food and drink wholesalers’ 400,000 customers will be explored in three new surveys revealed at the FWD annual conference on June 30.

FWD’s own research into the areas where foodservice operators most want help from their supply chain partners gives insight into the pressures facing pubs, care homes, fast food outlets and schools, and their suggestions for additional support.

A new survey commissioned by GS1 UK looks at the “pain in the supply chain.” Suppliers, wholesalers and end users contribute their views on how distribution, packaging and information flow can be improved.

The event sees the launch of him!’s new Wholesale Tracking Programme, which identifies the needs, wants and opinions of customers, including independent retailers, food service caterers and pub owners, who use both cash and carry and delivered wholesalers.

Under the banner of Winning in Wholesale, the conference at St George’s Park in Burton-on-Trent also includes presentations from senior executives of both suppler and wholesaler companies, including Mondelez International’s head of Europe Mary Barnard, and Andrew Selley, chief executive of Bidvest Foodservice. Sessions explore the economic, legislative and social trends that will influence the wholesale sector over the next 12 months.
