The Dhamecha Group, the largest independent wholesaler in the London area and a member of the Today’s Group, has announced the acquisition of a site in Birmingham for its ninth cash and carry depot.
This new trade-only C&C is located in the Smethwick area of Birmingham and is scheduled to open by the end of 2017, supplying a comprehensive range of grocery products, confectionery, beers, wines and spirits, toiletries and tobacco for independent convenience retailers and caterers in the West Midlands.
Chief executive Pradip Dhamecha (pictured above) said: “We have been operating C&Cs in the London area for over 40 years with seven branches in and around the M25.
“In 2015, we opened our first branch outside of the capital. The Branch in Leicester was our first foray into the Midlands area and is trading well. As part of our ongoing expansion program, the Birmingham branch will provide an additional destination of choice for customers in the West Midlands and we are confident that it will replicate the success of the Leicester branch – as well as those in the London area.
“Our dedicated and experienced team has, over the years, built up a reputation for exceptional customer service – giving our customers exactly what they want; a large product range in various pack sizes, everyday competitive pricing with regular deep-cut pricing and consistently dependable product availability“.
Dhamecha is the largest member of the Today’s Group – John Schofield, Acting MD of the Group commented: “We are delighted to hear the news of Dhamechas further investment in the Midlands, this is great news for retailers and caterers in the region – and equally great news for suppliers”.
