Imperial Cash amp; Carry unveiled plans for its 25th anniversary year at a supplier briefing in its newly opened conference suite at the depot in Edmonton, north London.
At the event the directors revealed that turnover for 2011 has risen 15% to £62m compared with £54m in 2010, and they also explained how the third generation of the family owned company were now influencing the business. Current directors John and Kali Mulchandani opened the cash and carry with their father Ghanshamdas in 1987, and have been joined in the business by the third generation Nikkita, Ravi and Rahul.
During the anniversary year Imperial intends to stage a number of celebratory trade days and a gala dinner, and there will be a number of sponsorship opportunities for suppliers. The trade days will include a Silver Spectacular Day celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Today’s Group, and an Olympic Day highlighting the depot’s close proximity to the main Olympic stadium.
As part of the anniversary Imperial will be raising funds for two charities, Macmillan Cancer and the Homeless Resources Centre in Edmonton.
