Foodservice specialist 3663 has added a range of traditional dishes to its own label portfolio to allow caterers to take advantage of the increased demand for all things British in 2012.

3663 says each own brand range extension is in response to a key foodservice market trend – for instance 90% of consumers say they either always or occasionally choose a starter (Mintel Eating Out, June 2011) so it’s important for caterers to provide a choice.

The wholesaler says British is now the top choice of cuisine for consumers eating at home and the No.2 for consumers eating out of home (Allegra Strategies Research and Analysis, 2011). Meanwhile, 50% of caterers predict it will be the most popular choice with consumers in the next two to three years (Peach Factory Food Trends, July 2010). 

The five starters, six mains and five desserts include Cod with Mushy Peas and Mature Cheddar amp; Bateman’s Ale Rarebit Topping, as well as products with a minimum of 65% British ingredients, such as British Pork Belly with Apricot amp; Herb Glaze and Minted British Lamb Shank. In addition 3663 has also extended its range to include even more mouth-watering desserts such as its new quintessentially British Cherry Bakewell Cheesecake.
