Hensons, the London-based wholesaler and catering butcher, has launched two new North African-flavoured burgers to celebrate National Burger Day on August 27.
Made with Welsh lamb and North African flavour favourites, the Gourmet Lamb Kofta Burger packs a punch, and there’s also a milder Lamb amp; Mint burger. Both can be ordered at a special National Burger Day price of 75p each until August 31.
National Burger Day, created by the popular Mr Hyde website, is a celebration of meat and involves more than 200 restaurants around the country – all of whom are offering a 20% discount on their burgers and a street food event with a Tweat Up.
Hensons made over a million burgers for the premium casual dining sector last year. Its Gourmet Burger range comes in a variety of shapes and sizes including square and artisan.
Andrew Brook, managing director, Hensons, said: “Our gourmet burger range is incredibly successful and so, we’ve used the same winning formula: knowledge of what the premium casual dining market is looking for combined with high quality meat – in this case fresh Welsh lamb marbled with the right amount of fat, selected and minced in-house with carefully blended ingredients.
“Our expert catering butchers turn this into gluten- free patties using burger-forming machines especially imported from America. This recipe creates easy-to-handle burgers with enough air trapped inside to allow juices to freely circulate ensuring burgers cook quickly, evenly and deliciously.”
The new burgers are made to order along with accompaniments such as pitta breads, yoghurt, and tsatziki.
