Hendersons beefs up show presence

Hendersons, the Spar wholesaler for Northern Ireland, has an eye-catching special guest at this year’s Balmoral Show, which is being held at Balmoral Park in Lisburn from today (14 May).

Visitors to the show will be invited to enter a special farming competition by filling out a short form and posting it into the Spar Cow (pictured), to be in with a chance to win prizes that include a ride on a John Deere Tractor and a remote control tractor toy to take home.

The specially commissioned cow has been hand painted by Belfast artist, Phillip Rees. It can be found at the fully-functioning Spar store situated at the corner of Park Central West and Barbour Avenue, where show visitors can enjoy fresh sandwiches, coffee, tea and muffins to keep energy levels up over the three day spectacular.

Henderson Group in Northern Ireland has just signed another three-year deal as Platinum Sponsors of the popular rural show.

“The Balmoral Show is at the heart and soul of our agriculture and farming community in Northern Ireland, and Spar is at the heart of those communities too,” said corporate marketing controller Bronagh Luke. “We are continuing to work with and support local suppliers of fresh meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables on the island of Ireland, and our presence at the Show only strives to strengthen those links.

“We’re looking forward to meeting all the visitors and having a successful three days at the show.”
