Hancocks aims to fill gap left by Woolworths

From this month the Christmas confectionery range will be available in Hancocks Cash and Carry.

Jonathan Summerley, senior buyer of Hancocks, said: “There is no Woolworths this year. Its demise has wiped out in the region of pound;50m sales of seasonal confectionery. Of course shoppers will still want to buy these items and this is where the independent can benefit.”

The Hancocks Christmas campaign is ‘Are you putting the pounds on?’ and the message to retailers is that Hancocks can help to stock the right range for their store and retailers can benefits from promotional events during the festive season.

Hancocks will be offering a range of value products with a focus on the pound;1 price point.
