Guests from across the industry gathered at the HAC Gardens (familiar to Wholesale News readers as the site of the FWD Gold Medals over the past couple of years) for the GroceryAid Summer Ball on June 24.
The evening was a huge success, and thanks to the generosity of all who attended, the money raised exceeded £188,000, a 14% increase on last year. This will enable the industry charity to look after at least 125 beneficiaries in the coming 12 months with both financial and welfare support.
The Summer Ball was attended by some 600 guests who enjoyed a summer evening of entertainment which included a funfair, a casino, tombola and entertainment from Mariachi El Mexicano and the AJK Dance Company. Back by popular demand to wrap up the evening was a DJ set from BBC Radio 1’s Dev who kept guests dancing until the end of the night.
The Summer Ball will be returning in June 2017. To find out more email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.groceryaid.org.uk
