Wholesalers, suppliers and customers are joining FWD to provide a masterclass in marketing to the wholesale channel at East End Foods in Birmingham on September 21.
Intended to help supplier companies build their brands in wholesale, the How to Win in Marketing to Wholesale seminar will explore how to engage FWD members in driving sales through to retailers and caterers.
FWD’s David Visick explains: “We know that the 400,000 businesses our members supply rely on their wholesaler for advice on merchandising and ranging. Wholesale distribution is a £30bn opportunity for brand owners who communicate effectively in the channel, so we’re going to look at how to really get the wholesaler onside when promoting your products to their customers.”
Wholesalers will be represented by Mark Bottomley of the Today’s Group, Sarah Whiddett of Bidvest Foodservice and Jason Wouhra, host of the session at East End Foods in Aston, Birmingham.
Kirsty Birks, strategy director at wholesale channel specialist Boost Drinks, will reveal successful engagement strategies in cash and carry depots and online, and Charlie Whitehead from him! will explore how customers shop and what influences their purchase. Customers and trade press representatives will also be contributing through filmed interviews.
