The search for the very cream of wholesaling and our industry’s partners starts here – FWD is once again asking for nominations for its annual Gold Medals, which are awarded to the best individuals, teams and initiatives in the wholesale channel over the past year.
For over 25 years the Gold Medals, presented on November 26 at the HAC Royal Artillery Gardens in London (current FWD chairman, Martin williams, is pictured at last year’s event), have been the pinnacle of achievement for up-and-coming depot managers, customer support teams and telesales staff. They give due recognition to the contribution of lorry drivers and shop floor workers whose efforts are often overlooked, and reward great ideas that have transformed FWD members’ businesses.
FWD communications director David Visick said: “There are talented and ambitious people throughout food and drink wholesale, and we’re asking our members to put forward their brightest stars for the awards. From company directors to checkout operators, there are exceptional people who add value every day, and we want to recognise and celebrate their achievements.”
The closing date for entries is September 18, and the winners are chosen by a panel of judges from FWD associate member companies (including Wholesale News).
The awards dinner, attended last year by 750 guests, also includes the Pritchitt’s Telesale Achiever Awards and additional Gold Medals for supplier companies, which are voted for by FWD members in a secret ballot. Table and individual reservations can be made via the FWD office on 01323 724952 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
