Entries are now open for the wholesale sector’s biggest awards for people, products and services – the FWD Gold Medals 2017.
This year there are 13 medals for wholesalers and a further nine recognising the contribution of suppliers in the wholesale channel over the previous 12 months. The medals for suppliers, which are nominated and voted for by FWD wholesaler members, include grocery, foodservice and drinks brands of the year; innovation of the year; and best service to retailers and caterers. A further award, again judged by the FWD membership, goes to the Young Supplier of the Year.
Wholesaler medals include awards for depot team, team member and delivery driver of the year, as well as recognition for the contributions of telesales executives, depot managers and customer support staff. Company awards include service to retailers and caterers, digital innovation, and the green wholesaler medal.
The coveted Gold Medal for Young Wholesaler of the Year is open to anyone under the age of 35 who works for an FWD member company.
FWD Director of Communications David Visick said: “Every year we get more and better entries for the awards. It’s great to see the pool of talent that we have in our industry, and it’s our pleasure to highlight and reward the commitment of so many people throughout the sector.
“If you’re a supplier and you want your products and service to be entered for the awards, you will need to persuade a wholesaler to nominate them for you before the closing date of August 18.”
