This year’s FWD Gold Medal Awards return to Old Billingsgate, the former wholesale market on the banks of the Thames, with a brand new medal to celebrate emerging talent in the wholesale channel.
The Young Supplier of the Year Award, sponsored by Costco, is added to the roster of Gold Medals to be presented on November 24. A companion to the existing Young Wholesaler Award, entries for this category are invited from anyone under 35 working for a supplier or brand owner in co-operation with wholesalers and their customers. They will be judged on their contribution to understanding and efficiency in the supply chain, and better service to the customer base.
Now in its 27th year (FWD chairman Martin Williams pictured at last year’s event, above), the FWD Gold Medals are the industry’s most coveted awards, with over 800 guests expected to attend the presentation ceremony. This year also sees the launch of two medals recognising advances in the adoption of technology – the Digital Innovation award for wholesalers, and the Process Innovation award for suppliers and service providers.
Medals for supplier companies’ products, services and innovations can only be nominated by FWD member wholesalers, so suppliers should persuade their trading partners to put them forward before the deadline of August 18.
Wholesalers wishing to enter teams or individuals should download entry form from www.fwd.co.uk and return their completed entries by September 16.
Table bookings are now being accepted via firstname.lastname@example.org.
