The judges have sat and deliberated, the votes have been cast, and we can reveal the shortlists for this year’s FWD Gold Medals – the “Oscars” of wholesaling.
This time round the Golds (now in their 27th year) include two brand new categories, Digital Innovation (for best use of new technology by a wholesaler); and Young Supplier of the Year Award, sponsored by Costco. The latter, a companion to the existing Young Wholesaler Award, aims to recognise anyone under 35 working for a supplier or brand owner in co-operation with wholesalers and their customers. They will be judged on their contribution to understanding and efficiency in the supply chain, and better service to the customer base.
Winners of both new awards will be revealed on the night. Further categories – including supplier service to wholesale awards (voted by FWD members); and the Green Wholesaler – will also be revealed at the ceremony.
Chair of the judges, FWD communications director David Visick, said: “The quality of entries gets better every year and we’ve clearly got some very talented people coming though wholesale’s ranks.
“Judging the individual awards is always a great pleasure because you really appreciate the contribution of people who don’t always get the attention they deserve. From telesales to depot staff, from drivers to customer service teams, the Gold Medals reward the dedication and ingenuity of all those who commit to success in the wholesale sector. We hope all our shortlisted finalists can join us on November 24, along with 800 industry colleagues, to see how much their efforts are appreciated.”
The FWD Gold Medals are being held this year at Old Billingsgate in London on the evening of Thursday, November 24. The event is almost sold out, so please email Nikki at FWD (email@example.com) to book your place!
