Mike Laney joined Imperial Tobacco in 2003 as national account manager in the forecourt sector before becoming head of channel distributive in 2006.

Prior to joining Imperial Tobacco he worked in the drinks sector with First Drinks and before that Guinness.

In his presentation he will be looking at sustainability from the point of view of the tobacco category, and the legislative challenges that it faces, and then broadening this out to look at the impact on other categories and the wholesale sector.

He will also be looking at the campaigning that has been carried out with the support of the FWD, at the opportunities that still exist to influence legislation, and the lessons that other categories can learn from the experience of the tobacco industry.
