David Glennon, retailer services manager for Nielsen, will provide insights into the way the current FMCG market is responding to economic climate from superstore to local store.

He will be analysing the information on how often consumers are shopping, and shopping trends for areas such as grocery, confectionery and soft drinks. Other issues include whether interest in sustainability has a place to play in the convenience sector and what's happened to the discounters.

He will then focus on how this is impacting the independent/convenience sector and the areas that should be focused on by cash and carries, suppliers and independent retailers in the current climate and year ahead.

David has been with Nielsen for 10 years and before that he worked in sales and marketing roles with independents and wholesalers.
