Werther's unveils its chocolates

Werther's Original has launched a new bagged chocolate offering.

Werther's Original Chocolate is a range of individually wrapped chocolates marbled with the taste of Werther's. The chocolate is available in Milk, Dark and Chocolate Caramel in 125g bags with an RRP of £1.99.

The chocolates are positioned as an everyday adult treat and will benefit from a £10m investment including TV advertising.

Richard Drayson, sales director at Werther's Original, said: "Werther's Original is an iconic £20m brand.

"The launch of Werther's Original Chocolate will build on the brand's 63% customer loyalty adding value to the chocolate bagged category by attracting a more mature and discerning consumer.

"It will also drive incremental sales, by attracting new, younger consumers."
