Sweet Charity has announced a new venue for its annual Candy Ball.

This year's event will take place at the Troxy in east London.

Charles Wilson, president of Sweet Charity, said: "The decision to move the event away from the Grosvenor was to ensure as much of the trade could come together and show support for the industry without having to pay Park Lane premiums.

"To help celebrate the move to such an exciting venue we will keep the ticket price the same, without compromising on the quality of food, or outstanding entertainment, and there will even be a free drinks reception for all guests to enjoy."

The event will feature cabaret, chocolate and a live band in the 1930s venue.

Patrick Davis, director general of Sweet Charity, said: "The Candy Ball in this stylish new venue will be a fantastic way to entertain staff, clients and customers while helping to raise vital funds for the confectionery industry's charity."

The Candy Ball is on April 17.
