Catersummit once again provided us with food for thought. It's time for a thorough review of our catering range, our promotions and sales methods. There is profitable business to be had - and we want more of it.
So, 'It' girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson is the new face of Heinz Baked Beans. That should put the wind up Branston and HP. Really, though, how much investment are brand owners committing to celebrity links, programme sponsorship and product placement these days. We need the money too, guys!

Only a year ago we were suffering dire supply problems with Cadbury Trebor Bassett. Now its £7m autumn investment is helping to put right recent wrongs and the 35p exclusive price-mark packs of CDM, Double Decker and Crunchie are flying out the door. Things are getting better.
We'll be giving extra support to Tyrells Potato Chips following its bold decision not to supply Tesco in favour of the independent trade. It deserves it.
