The Blueberry Group, the Leicestershire-based wholesale and distribution group trading as Fosters Fine Foods, has acquired Vine Wholesale Ltd, trading (and widely known) as Palmars Products.
Vine Wholesale is a supplier of ambient fine foods with long-standing trade relationships with some of the best-known department stores and specialist retailers in the UK. Vine also has a strong independent customer portfolio, particularly in its home county of Dorset.
Vine Wholesale Ltd will continue as a separate trading entity within the Blueberry Group but the distribution and administration functions will move to the Group head offices in Market Harborough with immediate effect. Both founders, Graham and Angie Vine, will remain with the business as directors of Vine Wholesale Ltd and will continue to manage their own customer base.
This acquisition forms part of the business plans put in place by the Blueberry Group management team following an MBO on November 30 last year.
“We have a strong team and great facility here in Market Harborough with the capacity for significant growth” said MD, Laura Shears. “Following the MBO we have secured investment so that we can implement stage one of our plans which includes re-enforcing our sales team, improving efficiencies in our operational infrastructure and not least making this acquisition. We are delighted that Angie and Graham will be joining the Group and look forward to working with them to grow Palmars Products.”
Graham Vine added: “We are really quite excited about this new chapter as it enables Angie and I to grow Palmars Products without the worry of the administration and logistics. We look forward to spending more time with customers and hope that they will relish the opportunity to buy a wider range from us.”
Blueberry Group’s other companies include Fosters Traditional Foods, The Foodfinders, Chambers British Confectionery & Fine Foods and The Treat Company.
