Brook Street Foods (BSF), the East Anglia-based foodservice wholesaler, is to make what it calls “a significant investment” to update its paper-based and manual systems to increase efficiency and fuel further growth.
With a growing customer base, the acquisition of a number of smaller companies and plans for expansion, BSF made a “strategic decision” to modernise and introduce sector-specific, integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) software to handle everything from finance and accounting through to ordering, warehouse management, telesales and stock control.
The first stage of the new software systems are due to go live in the next few weeks, and have been supplied by wholesale and distribution IT specialists Business Computer Projects (BCP). BCP’s customers include BWG, Spar, Musgrave, T Quality and Creed Catering.
Founded in 1990, BSF has grown to become one of the key suppliers of pre-packaged meat and other ambient, chilled and frozen food products to the catering trade in East Anglia, South East Midlands and London. Customers include schools, restaurants, hotels, caterers and contract caterers.
