Kinder is aiming to help wholesalers and their retailers capitalise on the popularity of “round-pound” deals from trusted brands with the launch next year of £1 PMPs on two of its biggest-selling sharing bags.
Available from January 2016, a £1 price-marked format will feature across the sharing range of Kinder Choco-Bons (69g) and Kinder Chocolate Mini (72g). The price-marked packs will be supported by a wider £3m media investment including TV, sampling and in-store activation.
In the past year, the average spend in a convenience store has increased to £6.45, with 17% buying on special offer [him! CTP 2014], demonstrating the importance of value for money within the wholesale channel.
Levi Boorer, customer development director, Ferrero comments: “We know that each of our retail customers is different and that’s where it gets exciting for a brand like Kinder – we have tailored our Kinder Sharing Bags range for each channel to make sure that we are providing the right product at the right price and in the right place, to unlock incremental sales. 69% of retailers consider price-marked packs to be important to driving sales. We have taken on board these insights and are confident that our new £1 price-marked pack will be a hit with shoppers.”
