Diversity drives growth for Confex with seven new members so far in 2016

No fewer than seven new members have joined Confex in the first three months of 2016, according to the wholesaler group. The new members bring the group’s turnover to over £2.5bn, an increase of 20% over the milestone reached at the end of last year.

A spokeswoman for Confex told Wholesale News: “As usual Confex attracts independent wholesalers who need the diverse product categories it offers. With over 200 suppliers, this is the core strength of the group and attracts all types of wholesalers; one buying group to keep them competitive for all their diverse customers.”

So far this year Confex has attracted Emara, a soft drinks and snacks company from Sheffield; two licensed traders from the Channel Islands; Yadco, an ethnic products wholesaler from Enfield; and Southeast Traders, a general wholesaler in Scotland. During March, Confex incorporated two specialist wholesalers – Spicers, suppliers of office products and Eezi-Freeze, a supplier of frozen foods to the catering trade.

Most of the new Members will be at the Confex Trade Show that takes place on April 21, at the Four Pillars Hotel & Conference Centre, Cotswold Water Park, near Cirencester, Glos.
