Booker’s head office in Wellingborough was reduced to a skeleton staff on January 22-23 as the company staged a two-day ‘Thank you’ event for its customers across its entire estate.
Head office staff helped out at depots during the event. which offered retailers and caterers ‘mega deals’, product tastings and stock give-aways, and which attracted over 10,000 extra customers into branches.
Steve Fox, director of retail and Premier development, was in Booker Nottingham thanking customers for their Features > Business, while Ron Hickey, director of catering development, was at Booker Cambridge.
“The ‘Thank You’ days were very well received by our customers,” said Hickey. “It was great to see so many customers in branch who were really pleased with the days.”
Fox said: “We had a lot of fun over the two days in branch and welcomed some fantastic people. The overwhelming feedback was that our choice is getting better, our prices have been lowered and service has improved, but we know we still have a lot more work to do.”
