Landmark Wholesale has signed up its second major foodservice member in six weeks with Country Range Group (CRG) announcing it will be joining Landmark Wholesale from January 2012.
At the end of February Landmark announced JJ Food Service, which has a turnover of £140m, had become a member.
CRG comprises 14 independent wholesalers which operate out of more than 20 depots throughout the UK and Channel Islands, and their combined turnover is around £230m.
Colin Birchall, managing director of CRG, said: “CRG has ambitious growth plans and membership of Landmark is part of this vision. We look forward to working with Landmark to assist in that development and strengthen our offer across all our categories.
Chris Creed, managing director of CRG’s biggest member Creed Foodservice and a CRG director, said: “We were attracted by the greater synergies with Landmark.”
CRG is currently a member of Today’s Group and under its rules a member has to give notice before the end of June in order to leave at the end of December.
Martin Williams, managing director of Landmark Wholesale, said: “We are delighted that Country Range is joining the Landmark Wholesale Group. They are viewed as one of the most professional and respected foodservice buying groups in the country. They share our vision for the future of the sector and we are looking forward to working closely with them in the coming years.”
