Confex restructures as Group turnover grows

Wholesale buying group Confex is restructuring its resources to ‘futureproof the business’ for its members, with David Lunt and Tom Gittins promoted to business development directors for Retail and Foodservice respectively.

Recruitment is also underway for a Digital Media Assistant who will report to Jess Douglas ,who replaces Gilly Hunt as marketing manager at the end of 2017, when Gilly will retire following 13 years of service.

“Welcoming 17 new members in the first four months of the year has helped push up turnover across the top 20 suppliers by 11.4% YTD,” managing director Nicky White said.

“As Confex continues to implement a three year strategy, which will see the Group top 3bn by 2020, further recruitment may well be on the cards for our head office which currently employs 20 people.”

White said Confex had enjoyed ‘continued growth during Q1 of 2017′ with Group turnover now standing at £2.82bn.
