Confectionery wholesaler Hancocks is to open its 20th UK cash and carry this month in Dundee. It will be the company’s second Scottish cash and carry and the second new depot this year, following the opening of Leeds in March.
“Dundee is an excellent choice for Hancocks. Such is the love of sweets and chocolates in Scotland, our Glasgow depot has grown by 25% in the last two years.” says Mark Watson, Hancocks CEO. “Many businesses in the east of Scotland currently travel to Glasgow in order to buy from us and so a Dundee cash and carry should be favourable to quite a large area, reaching up to Aberdeen and down towards Edinburgh” he adds.
The new outlet will be 10,000sq ft and stock a full range of branded and own label confectionery products, including a comprehensive range of pick and mix sweets, seasonal ranges, drinks and snacks.
Located very close to Booker cash and carry on Kilspindie Road in Dunsinane Park (DD2 3JP), businesses can benefit from using both cash and carries in the same trip.
John Jack has been appointed as the new manager for the Dundee depot, moving from an assistant manager role at Hancocks in Glasgow. He has worked with Hancocks for 15 years. Danny Turner will be the assistant manager. He has wide experience in the cash and carry trade, including with CJ Lang.
Hancocks is to open the Dundee branch on Sunday April 21.
