CJ Lang opens new pound;6m extension to its facilities

CJ Lang amp; Son has completed the £6.374m extension of its Longtown Road Distribution Centre in Dundee.

The development has created an additional 30,000sq ft of warehouse area, allowing chilled and frozen distribution operations and all its staff to be transferred from the company’s Clepington Road site in the city.

Staff facilities, offices, site access, traffic flow and parking for cars and lorries have also been improved.

At the opening of the extension, managing director Scott Malcolm said: “CJ Lang amp; Son’s decision to heavily invest in the warehouse extension was based on a need to increase efficiency and enhance our service to both our retailers and customers, in the most cost effective manner.”

A plaque to commemorate the occasion was unveiled by Joan Scott-Adie, chairman and granddaughter of founder Charles J Lang.
