Last month Sweet Charity held its Candy Rocks Party in London to raise funds for the confectionery industry. Members of trade, suppliers, wholesalers, trade press and industry agencies saw the outgoing president Dave Pogson, sales director of Cadbury, hand over to new president Charles Wilson, chief executive of Booker.
Between them they raised over pound;8,000 for Sweet Charity. The event was organised by Kate Harding, area chairman and trade communications manager for Cadbury, and saw a move away from traditional black tie events to a less formal format.
Patrick Davis, director general of Sweet Charity, said: “We are extremely grateful to Kate and all at the London Committee for putting on such a fantastic night. It is so good to see fresh new ideas coming through. We look forward to more events like this in the future.”
