Blueprint makes it a double

Jo Srijothy achieved a double boost from the FWD Take Home Blueprint team. Following the initial success he achieved with their help on his first shop, he has repeated the exercise at a second store he owns. Sales in his alcohol category are now up 20% in both stores thanks to the Blueprint.

Jo initially called the Blueprint helpline to get some advice on his off licence category for the convenience store he runs as part of the Ayngaran Service Station in the Greet area of Birmingham.

Following the team’s advice on tailoring the range to the recommendations of the Blueprint planogram and a re-merchandise of the category, Jo said he was “amazed” at the instant impact the advice had on his sales.

He said: “I thought that my alcohol offering was in a bit of a mess. While I had many of the recommended brands on the planogram, I was missing some key sellers. The layout wasn’t very customer-friendly. I realised that I was probably missing out on sales just because customers couldn’t find what they wanted.

“The Blueprint has completely turned this around. Everything is now organised. Not only can my customers find their way around the fixture better, but I can easily keep control of my stock.

“My customers find it so much easier to decide what to buy thanks to the Blueprint merchandising. This is crucial in a petrol station as people spend so little time in store. Now they can go straight to the fixture and identify their chosen brand in seconds,” Jo explained.

Jo also converted a convenience store he owns, UK Style Food Wine, also in Birmingham, using the Blueprint guidelines.

At the shop, Jo was experiencing similar problems to the service station. He had a decent range but was not making any visual impact with the presentation of his fixtures.

Again the Blueprint team were able to re-merchandise the entire off licence category and offer advice on brands that Jo was not currently stocking.

“The presentation of the fixtures in the convenience store has made a huge difference to my sales. People can spend time browsing and therefore will buy more. The service from the Blueprint team has been invaluable in both my businesses,” he added.
