Blueheath drivers create uplift in sales of products

Blueheath’s fleet of drivers have turned sales reps in a new initiative.

The company has been using its drivers to introduce new products to customers.

Trial companies included Coca-Cola Enterprises and United Biscuits. In one week the initative resulted in a 700% uplift in sales of Coke Citrus Zest, and Relentless saw a 400% uplift over the same period. Each driver who wants to be part of the scheme is issued with an information sheet, a sample of the product and an order form.

Geoff Atkins of United Biscuits joined the drivers at the Thurrock depot at 4.30am to demonstrate the new ‘Heat to Treat’ range. The result was 100 cases sold over the next fortnight.

Simon Cloke, operations director of Blueheath, said: “Following the success with Coke and UB we will be making this a key part of the business. In particular, the driver initiative builds on the unique relationships that they have had with our customers to whom they have delivered for many years in a number of cases.”

Blueheath has added 21 new Mercedes 18 tonne and two 7.5 tonne trucks to its fleet.
