Blakemore Wholesale launches new tobacco pricing strategy

Blakemore Wholesale has introduced a new tobacco pricing strategy to deliver what it calls “extra value to its cash and carry customers”.

The business rolled out the new tobacco initiative earlier this week (October 26) across eight of its fourteen C&C depots to offer reduced prices on each site’s three top-selling tobacco lines.

The eight depots include Birmingham, Cardiff, Gateshead, Killingworth, Middlesbrough, Swansea, Walsall and Wolverhampton (pictured).

Blakemore Wholesale commercial director Russell Grant said: “We have introduced this new tobacco pricing strategy after listening to customer feedback on ways that we can improve our offer and help maximise their profit margins.

“We believe that the new scheme is simpler and more impactful than our existing price-match initiative and offers unbeatable value for money.

“The new pricing strategy has been introduced to eight of our sites as the scheme has been devised to fit the trading profile of each depot.”

Each cash and carry that has introduced the initiative has also launched an ongoing free-stock deal which offers customers a free 24x330ml case of Coke when they purchase 15 full cigarette outers.

The new scheme will replace Blakemore Wholesale’s previous “Top Ten” price-match initiative at the depots affected by the change. All other depots will continue with current pricing levels and maintain any existing free-stock deals.
