Blakemore Retail has made a massive financial contribution to the NSPCC thanks to the fundraising efforts of staff across the company’s Spar estate.
Blakemore Retail awarded its latest donation of £67,261 to the NSPCC last month, bringing the overall amount donated by the business to the charity to more than £2.3m since its partnership began in 2007.
The donation was raised through employee-led fundraisers, which included cake sales, sponsored cycles and even a stomach-churning “bushtucker trial”.
NSPCC corporate partnerships manager Kirsty White commented: “Each year Blakemore Retail does a fantastic job of fundraising for the NSPCC, and we continue to be blown away by stores’ enthusiasm!
“In the last year alone, we have had gifts donated to our Birmingham Service Centre for the children that we help there, 50 to 500-mile bike rides, skydiving and plenty of cake sales!
“Thank you to everyone who has raised money for us since 2007 – for every penny donation, you are helping us in our fight for every childhood.”
