Blakemore launches a digital, internal communications platform

Blakemore Logistics is set to launch a new, online internal communications platform designed to help improve colleague communication within the business.

The Blakemore Logistics Communications Hub will go live this month and will be accessible to employees across the division on both work and personal devices. Colleagues will register an email address with a nominated staff member at their depot to access the password-protected site.

Featuring divisional news, local depot news, key performance indicators, upcoming events, organisational structures, job vacancies and the latest SPAR offers, the Communications Hub will promote key business messages to employees as well as celebrate the achievements of individuals at a local level. Staff will also be able to participate in surveys and submit questions to the senior management team via the platform.

Logistics Manager Marc Deakin said: “The Blakemore Logistics Communications Hub has been developed in response to previous colleague engagement surveys, which have consistently highlighted communication as an area for improvement. A large proportion of survey respondents said that they wanted more information on their depot and division.

“The intention is to offer an easy-to-use platform that all employees can access on mobile and desktop devices, whether they are based in the office, warehouse or out on the road, and whether or not they have a work email address. I would encourage all colleagues across the Logistics division to sign up to the Hub. The more people we have on board, the more successful the platform will be,” he added.

A team of colleagues across the West Midlands, Talbot Green and Hastings depots will be responsible for updating the platform’s content, with support from Blakemore’s corporate affairs team.
