Bidvest Logistics has taken delivery of the first vehicles of a new eco-friendly fleet and by January 2012 it will have 108 26-tonne DAF LF55 220 Euro 5 lorries.
The new vehicles are compliant with London 2012 emission targets, and are fitted with frigoblock electric twin evaporator refrigeration systems to reduce the company’s carbon footprint. Microlise telematics has also been installed giving vehicle and delivery tracking as well as driving style data to improve fleet management.
Managing director Andrew Selley commented: “Bidvest Logistics has invested heavily in this brand new state-of-the-art fleet to make sure we stay ahead of the game with our transport solutions. We pride ourselves on our service delivery standards, and these vehicles will transport our offerings in first-class condition, ensuring our valued customers receive their deliveries in first class condition.
“At Bidvest Logistics we pride ourselves on being a dynamic, innovative company ready to meet the challenge of individual customers’ requirements, and we tailor our solutions to fulfil their specific needs. This new eco-friendly fleet will help us achieve this.”
