Bidvest Foodservice has unveiled its portfolio for this year’s festive season, with over 80 new products. The range has been developed by the team of chefs at the wholesaler, and includes everything from canapés, joints of meat, desserts and festive drinks; to kitchen essentials, crackers and crockery.
A company spokeswoman said: “Using extensive market research and insights, customer feedback and supplier input, the products have been selected to meet the needs of customers, and feature current and up-coming trends, popular flavour profiles and prevalent dietary requirements.”
The range includes old favourites such as traditional mince pies, turkey, and pigs in blankets, as well as new items to tap into popular and emerging fashions, such as the growing trend for alcohol-infused products. Bidvest’s Premium Selection range includes Popping Prosecco & Lemon Cheesecake and Gin & Lavender Parfait to cater for this consumer demand. There are also dishes catering for sharing occasions such as parties.
Bidvest also recently acquired Yarde Farm, a super-premium brand of flavoured ice creams. Specially developed for Christmas, Yarde Farm has created some interesting new flavours, including Cinnamon Crunch and Ginger ice creams, and Crisp Apple and Elderflower sorbets.
Gail Bridgeman, Bidvest campaign and activation manager, said: “Although Christmas is often a time of traditions, the marketplace is fast-moving with a plethora of trends and eating habits continually emerging. As well as offering the popular Christmas recipes, it is important for operators to cater for varying consumer demands, from meat-free options for vegetarians to new and indulgent products.”
The Bidvest Foodservice Christmas collection is available from next month and the wholesaler will be running a number of seasonal offers to help make the festive season even easier for operators. As well as a full range brochure, the company has also developed a series of Perfect Christmas “channel guides” guides for specific sectors such as healthcare, hotels, schools, on-the-go and restaurants and pubs.
