Bestway helps retailers score big with footie competition and promotions

Bestway’s retail group Best-one is launching its first-ever text-to-win competition offering shoppers the chance to bag prizes as part of its support package for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The “Predict the England Score” competition gives Best-one customers the chance to predict the correct scores of England’s first round group games.

Winning scores can then scoop prizes which include personalised England shirts, Xbox 360s, Steven Gerrard designed football boots, £50 worth of sports kit vouchers and hundreds of other prizes.

The initiative will run throughout England’s group games in Brazil with customers taking part by texting their prediction or by entering online at a dedicated World Cup microsite at www.best-one.co.uk

The retail group has also teamed-up with major suppliers so Best-one retailers can bag themselves some exclusive prizes for their community. By purchasing participating products from partner suppliers CCE, Johnson amp; Johnson, Mars, Molson Coors and LRS, retailers can win £500 worth of sports vouchers, World Cup branded sports bags and water bottle sets and a community party worth £750 which they can pass on to their local school or sports club.

James Hall, director of symbol at Bestway said: “Best-one is all about retailers being at the heart of the community and what better way to reward shoppers than by offering them the chance to win at the biggest event of the summer. Community is vital and that’s why when we devised the promotion we wanted to offer prizes that were community focused in addition to individual winners.

“Engaging with shoppers is key to developing relationships with customers at a local level and Best-one retailers have a proven track record of community involvement. This exiting initiative will help forge stronger links with customers, drive sales in store and provide local schools or clubs with new equipment.”

Hall continued: “And we haven’t taken our eye off the ball when it comes to pricing promotions. We’re offering consumers great deals on licensed and Big Night In products such as 15-packs of lager for only £9.99, multipacks of crisps for £1, £1.79 PM Pringles at only £1.25 and some really great discounts on wine.”

Best-one retailers can also order a pre-filled display unit containing 240 pieces of “Come on England” merchandise including giant flags, face paints, baseball caps and car flags – all with an RSP of £1.49.
