Bestway extends own-label soft drinks range

Best-in, Bestway and Batleys’ own-label, is tomorrow (1 May) launching Fruit Aqua, a new range of fruit flavoured spring waters in time for the company hopes will be a long, hot summer.

Sourced in the UK, Fruit Aqua is available in both still and carbonated variants to maximise consumer appeal. The range is available in three great tasting flavours – Strawberry, Lemon amp; Lime and Summer Fruits.

According to a spokesman, the bottled water market through Bestway grew by over 20% in both volume and value in 2013 (vs 2012) with flavoured water performing exceptionally well in depot.

Best-in Fruit Aqua aims to capitalise on consumer trends for taste and refreshment over simple hydration, with “striking graphics to produce greater shelf impact than competitors and generate high rates of sale”.

Fruit Aqua’s packaging is complemented by Best-in’s dual price marking strategy offering consumers a single bottle for 59p or inviting consumers to trade up to “2 for £1″, a popular single coin price point, which, it is claimed, delivers increased cash margin for retailers.

The new range will be backed with an in-depot launch promotional package of £2.99 +VAT for a 12 x 500ml bottles, giving retailers a POR of 49.3% on single sales and 40% on the “2 for £1″ price.
