The most talented individuals within the wholesale channel were honoured at the FWD Annual Dinner and Gold Medal Awards, held in the Connaught Rooms in London.
Bill Pace, trading director of AG Parfett amp; Sons, won the award for Wholesaler Service to Retail, while Wholesaler Service to Caterers was won by David Sutherland, managing director of Sutherland Brothers.
The awards which recognise individual excellence in the wholesale industry are decided by a rigorous judging process by the Federation of wholesale Distributors following nominations by members and associate members of the FWD.
The sponsors of this year’s awards were Sugro for the supplier awards and Molson Coors for the wholesaler awards.
There was a tie for Multiple Cash and Carry Manager of the Year, with both Michelle Guy, general manager of Booker in Oxford, and Sajid Mahmood, general manager of Bestway’s Hackney depot, picking up awards.
Parfetts won a second award with Paul Mason, general manager of AG Parfett amp; Sons in Aintree, named Independent Cash and Carry Manager of the Year.
Delivered Depot Manager of the Year Independent was picked up by Neil Corfield, depot manager at Creed Foodservice in Ilkeston, and Delivered Depot Manager Multiple was awarded to Eddie Scamell, depot general manager of 3663 Worthing depot.
Young Wholesaler of the Year was presented to Brian Yip, director of Wing Yip.
Alan Toft was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
