This Wednesday (September 9) – barring unforseen circumstances – HM The Queen will become Britain’s longest-serving monarch, surpassing the record set by her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria.
To celebrate Her Majesty’s 63 years, seven months and two days on the throne, Bendicks, manufacturer of quintessentially English after dinner mints, is introducing a premium limited edition Elizabethan Mint.
Available from this month, the mints will continue to be sold throughout 2016 in celebration of The Queen’s 90th birthday on April 21, providing two incremental event opportunities for retailers to drive category value, says the brand’s owner Storck UK. The exclusive 310g box contains two layers of individually gold wrapped dark chocolate mints with a soft peppermint fondant centre.
“We are really excited to be introducing a limited edition Bendicks mint to celebrate such a great year for the Royal Family,” comments Andy Mutton, sales director, at Storck UK. “The limited edition variant is also a perfect Christmas gift for any Royalist or the most discerning of chocolate connoisseurs as well as those celebrating special events themselves.”
The launch will also support QEST, which funds the education of talented crafts people through their Scholarship and Apprenticeship Schemes to achieve the very highest standards in British craftsmanship.
