The judges have spoken, and the winners of the 2014 FWD Gold Medal awards have been chosen – but the industry will have to wait until November 27 to find out who they are.
A panel of FWD associate members (pictured) judged the awards for wholesalers, which include Young Wholesaler of the Year and Cash and Carry Depot Manager of the Year. Other awards recognise the achievements of branch team members and the wholesalers which offer the best service to their customers.
This year’s judges were Nikki Connor and David Visick from FWD; Mike McGee of The Whole Sale Company; Tom Lynch of CGA; Martin Janes, representing GS1 UK; Peter Bailey of eXPD8; HIM’s Jill Livesey, and John Lewis of Lewis Business Media, publisher of Wholesale News.
Awards for suppliers, including Grocery, Drinks and Foodservice brands of the year, were voted for by members of the FWD in a secret ballot.
FWD’s David Visick said: “In this year’s entries there are some great products, some great initiatives and some great stories of individual’s commitment to helping the customers.”
The winners will be revealed at the HAC Royal Artillery Gardens in London on November 27, in front of 700 guests. The evening also includes the Pritchitts Telesales Achiever awards. Contact email@example.com to book your place.
