Wholesale IT company STL Solutions has taken over the wholesale division of Anker Systems.
Anker Systems was taken over by another IT company Torex Retail in August, but it decided the wholesale division was not core to its business and decided to transfer it to new ownership.
Torex said STL was the clear choice for the transfer as it was headed by Ivan Durkin, who was previously managing director of Anker’s wholesale division, and therefore already had a firm relationship with the division’s client base.
STL now owns the rights to the division’s products and will take on service of them.
Doug Hargrove, chief operating officer of Torex, said: “STL Solutions has a dedicated personnel with many man years within the wholesale sector and it was apparent when the decision was taken for Torex Retail to move out of this sector that STL Solutions have the qualities and experience needed to be able to support the user base. We wish all at STL Solutions and the clients every success in the future in what we believe is the right move for all concerned.
Durkin said: “As part of growing the STL Solutions business we see this as a strategic purchase which will further enhance our position within the market and that ultimately allows us to grow our presence.
“Having many years within the industry I feel that this is the catalyst for a very exciting phase for STL Solutions.”
