A wider range and deeper discounts are part of plan

Booker has increased the range available to customers by 20% and has introduced a new promotional structure that offers greater discounts.

The increase in range has been achieved by enabling customers to order products from their regional distribution centre if they are not stocked by their local branch.

Customers can order from the catalogue at their local branch, or view the range via the Booker website. Orders are guaranteed to be delivered to branches within 36-72 hours.

Sales director Warren Thomson said: “Booker is dedicated to choice up, prices down and better service. We are working hard to improve our range of products so customers have exactly what they want, when they want it. Customers will have access to their full regional distribution range which will provide their consumers greater choice.” He said that customers of smaller depots could benefit from up to 4,000 additional products.

The new promotional structure, branded Booker Specials, is intended to help independent retailers make the biggest savings on a range of products covering confectionery, soft drinks, alcohol, grocery, chilled and frozen.

Steve Fox, director of retail and Premier development, commented: “The deals Booker will be providing are targeted specifically for independent retailers to help them save money or pass on the promotion to their consumers.”
