3663 has announced its involvement in British Food Fortnight, which runs from September 17 to October 2.
The foodservice wholesaler will run a selection of offers to encourage its customers to source more British produce and promote specials on their menus throughout this period to support the event.
Vanessa Millard, senior marketing manager at 3663, commented: “We’re delighted to be supporting what is a fantastic event within the foodservice calendar; especially with recent research showing that one in five of us actively searches out British food and the majority feeling that British food is fresher and supports British business.
“Operators should use this as an opportunity to promote the use of British food on their menus and to clearly show customers that they’re using quality produce. Why not include the name of the farm or region where the produce originates on your menu demonstrating your passion for British food?
“It’s amazing to see how the event has transformed over the last 10 years – it has become the perfect celebration for everything British. With recent statistics from Menurama noting that the top three British dishes are Full English Breakfast, Sausages amp; Mash and Fish amp; Chips, you could be forgiven for thinking that these dishes form part of many menus when eating out of home. But, having the opportunity to ensure these dishes are quintessentially ‘British’ – made using British ingredients – is where the celebration of British Food Fortnight really comes into its own.”
