Key Lekkerland member WH HM Young has had an integrated security system installed at its 70,000 sq ft purpose-built warehouse and head office at Leeds.
The system, known as System 2000, has been designed, installed and maintained by security systems specialist Leerose, and in addition to security applications Youngs is using the system to aid health and safety, operations management and even improve business processes.
Leerose has used a combination of detection technologies that allows activity to continue in the goods inwards and the despatch areas without compromising the detection measures at the site perimeter. Management of both the goods inwards area and site perimeter are backed up by CCTV cameras that incorporate high-speed dome technology to quickly focus and zoom in on any incidents.
Images are recorded to a digital hard disk recording system, and out of office hours images are relayed via broadband to a remote video monitoring centre and can be viewed by senior managers.
An extensive network of access control readers is located around the building to control access to sensitive areas.
The project undertaken by Leerose has also transformed the site layout to address health and safety considerations.
In addition to changes to car parking facilities, Leerose has introduced traffic safety measures that co-ordinate safe movement of drivers, staff and visitors on site.
Following the installation of the system in Leeds, Leerose and Youngs have announced a partnership arrangement for Youngs to supply Leerose’s System 2000 to its customer base.
System 2000’s video management system enables business owners to view what is happening at their outlets from their homes.
